Looking for an emergency dentist in Gurunanak Colony, Vijayawada? Phone 092814 93949 first. GIA Clinics on Club Road is open every day, Monday to Sunday, from 10 AM to 8:30 PM, and the front desk can tell you which doctor is in and how soon you can be seen. Then use the guide below, which is set out by what has actually happened.
Severe toothache
Pain that keeps you awake usually means the nerve is inflamed or an infection has formed. Rinse with warm salt water, take a painkiller you normally tolerate, and keep food away from that side. An X-ray will show the cause. Treatment may be root canal work or removal of the tooth.
Swollen face or gum
A swelling with a bad taste or fever suggests an abscess, which will not go away by itself, even if the pain eases. Call us the same day. If the swelling is closing your eye, reaching your neck or making it hard to swallow or breathe, go straight to a hospital.
Chipped or broken tooth
Save any pieces, rinse your mouth and cover a sharp edge with sugar-free gum or dental wax. A small chip can usually wait for a booked visit. A large break, or one showing a pink or red spot, needs to be seen sooner.
Lost crown or filling
Keep the crown safe and bring it with you. Avoid chewing on that side. Please do not glue it back in place at home.
A child's dental injury
Stay calm and check for bleeding. Dr Lalitya Dandamudi, our paediatric dentist, sees children here from 10 AM to 8:30 PM. Bring any broken pieces. If a child has hit their head and seems drowsy, confused or is vomiting, take them to a hospital first.
Painful wisdom tooth
Swollen gum at the back of the mouth is common with a part-erupted wisdom tooth. Keep the area clean with warm salt water and call us. Dr Sai Santosh, our oral and maxillofacial surgeon, is in from 12:30 PM.
When we are closed
GIA Clinics is not a 24-hour service. If your problem can wait, WhatsApp 092814 93949 and call when the clinic opens at 10 AM. If you have trouble breathing or swallowing, spreading swelling, bleeding that will not stop, or a serious head or facial injury, go to the nearest hospital emergency department without waiting for us.
