Root canal treatment in Vijayawada

Root canal treatment removes infected or inflamed pulp from inside a tooth, cleans and seals the canals, and lets you keep the tooth instead of losing it. At GIA Clinics in Vijayawada, it is done by Dr Sreeja Lakshmi at Gunadala, Dr Pravalika Mogili at Gurunanak Colony, and Dr Lalitya Dandamudi at both clinics.

Questions

Common questions.

Answers to be checked by the doctor

Is root canal treatment painful?

The tooth is numbed first, so most patients feel pressure rather than pain. The tooth may feel tender for a few days afterwards.

Can it be done in one visit?

Often yes, if the infection is limited. Teeth with more infection or curved canals may need two or three visits.

Do I need a crown after a root canal?

Usually yes for back teeth, because a treated tooth can become brittle. Your dentist will advise for front teeth case by case.

What if I just remove the tooth instead?

Removing it is possible, but the gap may later need an implant, bridge or denture. Saving your own tooth is usually the first choice.
