Hair Fall Treatment in Gurunanak Colony, Vijayawada

Corridor at GIA Clinics Gurunanak Colony

Before you start hair fall treatment in Gurunanak Colony, Vijayawada, a little record-keeping will help more than another new shampoo. Hair changes slowly, and memory is a poor judge of it. If you come to GIA Clinics on Club Road with some simple notes and photographs, Dr Sai Santosh can get to the cause sooner, and you will be able to tell whether treatment is working.

Keep a two-week record

  • When did the hair fall begin, and has it sped up?
  • Where do you see it: the temples, parting, crown or all over?
  • Any illness, surgery or major stress in the months before?
  • Any new medicines, or a big change in your diet?
  • Do parents or siblings have similar thinning?

Take comparable photographs

Photograph your hairline, parting and crown in the same place and light, with your hair dry. Repeat this every month. Small monthly changes are hard to spot in the mirror, but easy to see side by side.

What to bring

Bring your notes and photographs, a list of your medicines, and any recent blood reports. Mention any products or treatments you have already tried, and how long you used them.

At your appointment

Dr Sai checks your scalp under a microscope and goes through your notes. If the cause needs further checking, he will say so. If your follicles are still active, he may suggest PRP or GFC therapy. If hair has been lost from an area, a transplant may be discussed.

What a course asks of you

PRP or GFC therapy is usually a course of three to six sessions about four weeks apart, each lasting about an hour. It helps to treat it like any regular appointment, because the benefit comes from completing it. Most people feel only mild pricks. Your photographs are compared after three or four sessions, and maintenance sessions may be suggested every few months.

Be patient with the timeline

Many people see less hair fall after a few sessions, while changes in thickness usually take three to six months. Results vary, so it is your own photographs that matter, not someone else's.

Questions

Common questions.

Should I stop my current hair products before the visit?

There is no need to change anything beforehand. Just bring a list of what you use, and Dr Sai will advise you.

Should I wash my hair before my appointment?

Come as you normally would. A clean, dry scalp makes the microscope check easier.

How many sessions will I need for hair fall?

A course is often three to six sessions about four weeks apart, but this varies. Dr Sai will suggest a number after your assessment.

Can I take PRP if I am on blood thinners?

Tell us first. Blood thinners, blood disorders and low platelets all need checking before PRP or GFC therapy is considered.
