PRP Hair Treatment in Vijayawada

Procedure room at GIA Clinics Gunadala

PRP hair treatment in Vijayawada uses something you already have: your own blood. PRP means platelet-rich plasma, a concentrate that is injected into thinning areas of the scalp to support the hair that is still growing. At GIA Clinics it is planned by Dr Sai Santosh after a scalp microscope assessment, because it helps some kinds of hair loss far more than others.

One session, step by step

  • A small amount of blood is drawn from your arm.
  • The blood is spun and processed to concentrate the platelets.
  • Numbing cream or local anaesthesia is used on the scalp.
  • The concentrate is injected with fine needles into the thinning areas.

A session takes about an hour, including the blood draw and preparation. Most people feel mild pricks.

How many sessions

A typical course is often three to six sessions about four weeks apart, though this varies. Your hair density is compared with your first photographs after three or four sessions, so you can see whether it is working. Maintenance sessions are often suggested every few months to keep the results.

PRP or GFC?

Both are made from your own blood. PRP uses the platelet-rich part of the plasma. GFC, or growth factor concentrate, is processed further to concentrate the growth factors. GIA offers both, and Dr Sai will tell you which he suggests for your scalp.

Where PRP fits well

  • Early to moderate thinning in men or women
  • Hair fall where the follicles are still active
  • People who want a non-surgical option
  • Support alongside a hair transplant

Where it does not

PRP supports existing follicles. It will not fill a smooth bald area, where a transplant may be the realistic choice. It also asks for commitment, since one or two sessions are unlikely to show much.

Who should check first

Tell us if you have a blood disorder or low platelets, take blood thinners, or have a scalp infection or an active scalp condition. Tell us also if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if your hair loss is sudden or patchy, because the cause needs checking first.

PRP is available at both GIA clinics. To book a scalp assessment, call or WhatsApp Gunadala on 090772 93949 or Gurunanak Colony on 092814 93949.

Questions

Common questions.

How soon will PRP show results?

Many people notice less hair fall after a few sessions. Changes in thickness usually take three to six months, and results vary from person to person.

Can PRP regrow hair on bald areas?

It works best where follicles are still active. Fully bald areas usually do not respond, and a transplant may be a better option there.

Is PRP treatment safe?

It is made from your own blood and done with sterile equipment. Some people have mild soreness or redness afterwards, and blood disorders need checking first.

Can I wash my hair after PRP?

You will be told when to wash your hair at the end of the session. Follow that advice, as it can vary with the treatment you had.
